Long Beach Grand Prix 2022

Newport Beach Automotive Group recently hosted clients at the 2022 Long Beach Grand Prix for a weekend full of racing. This year we decided to do things a little different, by renting a Seaside Suite on Turn 9 of the street circuit, allowing us to have a more private setting to watch the race from, and get away from the crowds. On Friday morning, being practice day for IndyCar, IMSA, and more, we hosted a small drive with clients from our Lamborghini Newport Beach showroom, over to Long Beach. Upon our arrival, we headed over to our suite to get settled in, and enjoy some breakfast. Throughout the day we got to watch some of the most spectacular racecars take on this historic street circuit, including the McLaren Indycars, Huracan GT3 EVO, 720S GT3, as well as some classic IMSA racers, and even the mighty Stadium Super Trucks! While practice always presents a fun start to the weekend, we were ready for the weekend to watch some of the real racing!

As Saturday came around, we kicked off the morning at our showroom with a special display of Lamborghini Accessori Originali, and other Lamborghini accessories from our merchandise boutique. Alongside the Urus and Huracan EVO RWD Spyder on display, we had some delicious pastries and coffee to kick off the morning before heading over to the track. After a short speech by our Dealer Principal, Pietro Frigerio, and our Service Manager, Bill Pierson, everyone headed to their cars for an exhilarating drive to Long Beach. Upon arrival in Long Beach, we had some reserved parking for our group, which included a variety of vehicles such as Huracan STO, Gallardo Superleggera, 720S Spider, Aventador SVJ, McLaren Senna, just to name a few! We parked, grabbed all our passes, and headed over to our suite for breakfast and the sweet smell of race fuel. Saturday included Qualifying for IndyCar, and races for IMSA, Historic IMSA, Porsche Carrera Cup, and Stadium Super Trucks, keeping the day interesting with a variety of different motorsport events. Throughout the day we had opportunities to visit the Pits, getting us real close to the action, the Paddocks for both Indycar and IMSA vehicles, and enjoy some delicious food at our suite.

Now for race day! Sunday, for the 3^rd day in a row, we hosted yet another drive from our showroom over to the Long Beach Grand Prix! Sunday includes a unique experience, where we were able to park inside the Mother’s Exotic Car Paddock, hosted by Mother’s Polishes, which provides exotic-only parking right alongside the track! The parking lot at this paddock is always filled with unique and rare exotic vehicles which you may not often see out and about on the roads. Upon arrival we hung around the Mother’s Paddock, as there was a raffle for the opportunity to Parade Laps around the track! A few of our clients won the raffle, and we took on the track in a Huracan STO, alongside 600LT’s, Ford GT’s, Porsche GT3’s, and many other exotics for a once in a lifetime experience. From there, we headed back to our suite, to watch the main event of the day, the Indycar race! We all cheered on for Arrow McLaren, as they flew by our suite and took on the other teams for a race to remember.
